Detailed Commentary & Meaningful Thoughts
The verse uses strong moral language for dispositions that obstruct refuge. Its terms should be read within Krishna's ethical teaching, rather than assigned to modern communities or people merely for holding different beliefs.

"Examine conduct and self-deception before judging someone else's spiritual life."
Inquiry Question to Ponder:
Where could honest self-examination improve your conduct?
Modern Life Implementation (Practical Real-Life Application)
Apply this verse to look beneath external appearances in your daily life: see the underlying divine spark and interconnectedness in everyone, and seek refuge in timeless values rather than chasing fleeting superficial illusions.
