English meaning
English Translation: Glory to You, O Lord of the Universe (Jagdish Hare)! In an instant, You dispel all troubles and distress of Your devoted servants! Whoever meditates upon You receives the fruit of righteousness; sorrow departs from the mind, peace and prosperity enter the home, and physical suffering ceases. You are my Mother and Father; to whom else shall I turn for refuge? There is none other than You upon whom I place my hope! You are the Supreme Soul, the Knower of all hearts, the transcendent Absolute and Lord of all! You are an ocean of mercy, the Sustainer of all existence; I am foolish and flawed, shower Your grace upon me, O Lord! You are beyond the physical senses, the Master of every breath; how may a person of limited understanding unite with You, O Merciful One? Friend of the humble, Dispeller of grief, You are my Lord; raise Your protecting hands, for I have fallen at Your threshold! Eradicate worldly attachments, wash away all sins, increase faith, devotion, and selfless service to holy beings! Body, mind, and wealth — all belong to You, O Lord; offering what is Yours back to You, what is truly mine? Whoever sings this holy Aarti of Lord Jagdish attains everlasting joy and divine fulfillment! Devotional Significance: Composed by Pandit Shradha Ram Phillauri in the 1870s, this is the universal Sanatana Dharma evening Aarti sung across the globe in honor of Lord Vishnu.
